Jonathan Freedland is the most odious writer at the Grauniad, and on a paper that employs James Ball, Luke Harding, and Marina Hyde, that's saying something.

This is truly horrendous prose. The conceit reuired to actually write this kind of guff, then publish it, instead of throwing it into the wastepaper basket where it belongs, is beyond me.

He invited them to join him for the chorus of sunday bloody sunday...heartbreaking that they couldn't post it up on IG, but the sacrifice felt right.

He's only speaking to the best of his intellectual ability for pete's sake!

It will cost the UK taxpayer £132bn to decommission all the UK’s civil nuclear sites and the work will not be completed for another 120 years, according to latest estimates.

Always enjoy that from Cooper Clarke. I remember an intervew with a Brazilian rocker while I was living there. He was getting het up over all this good deed stuff Bono was doing, saying rockers were supposed to be against all that. Anyway he referred to Bono in Brazilian slang as " uma mala sem alça"

When you callsomebody uma mala, it means they're a suitcase - something really tedious to lug around but saying they're a mala sem alça means they're much worse - they're a suitcase without a handle which makes them a crashing bore to deal with.

But I wonder if Bongo's trousers ended up in the suitcase without a handle...
