Eton College apologises after allegations pupils jeered visiting state schoolgirls
Private school sanctions a number of boys after investigation into misogynistic language and racial slurs
Eton College has apologised and “sanctioned” a number of pupils after allegations that a group of girls visiting from a nearby state school were subjected to misogynistic language, racial slurs and jeering.
The boys’ private school near Windsor, Berkshire, told the BBC that an investigation took place into the incident which occurred during a speech by Nigel Farage last week.
A person, who said they were a parent of one of the girls who attended the speech, wrote on social media anonymously that the students were booed inside the lecture theatre and were subjected to “racial slurs” and “generally misogynistic comments”. They said of the private school pupils: “Their behaviour was awful.”
The poster also said that Eton boys had cheered Farage’s “worst comments on migrants and Covid”.
The college told the BBC it had apologised “unreservedly” for the “totally unacceptable” behaviour.
Farage said the atmosphere during his talk was “riotous”.
In 2013, the Salisbury Diplomatic Society hosted the then Ukip leader at Eton for a talk called Europe: In or Out?...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.
An apology. So that'll solve the endemic / systemic cancerous posh-yob problem then.
Obviously their only real regret is that their dirty little PRIVATE school secret went PUBLIC.
The posh-yob and loutish, loaded misogynist attitudes that private male "public" schools encourage or at best merrily tolerate regrettably couldn't for once be concealed from the public. Kept private. Non-public. Confused? We apologise. We failed to hide the Ugly Truth for once. It won't happen again.
Indeed - it speaks volumes that the wealthy elites long ago succeeded so easily in getting the public to unquestioningly and permanently refer to private schools as "public" schools. And still even now most people remain oblivious to the absurd, opposite-of-the-truth nature of the "public" school misnomer.
Private = Public. If elite educators can achieve that level of brazen truth-inversion so easily they know they'll always just as easily be able to persuade the,er, public that Truth = Lies, Right = Wrong, Up = Down, Biased = Unbiased, We Despise You = We Respect You, Innocent = Guilty..and vice-versa or versa-vice ad nauseam et infinitum. (Yep - I confess to being a Latin scholar educated at a top-rated public grammar school..located on a common-as-muck council estate - as was my house. Like many Eton toffs I grew up on a sprawling Estate)
