This is really interesting.

Ditto: are some of your "favourite" TV presenters, expert guests, journalists really CIA spooks, place-men/women?

Why is this post even framed as a question of the 'Is the Pope Catholic?" kind ?

Thank God that most dissidents' all-time favourite academic Noam Chomsky is above suspicion though, right?
He's been tolerated and allowed to write and speak freely and paid handsomely by establishment / military-industrial MIT for 60-odd years because....??

And although his official specialty is linguistics almost noone of the alternative media/dissident persuasion has ever seen or heard him lecture on that subject - and most of us don't want to.

How many other professors are known almost exclusively for their books, lectures, interviews
dedicated to geopolitics, the media, propaganda - but whose official or ostensible academic specialty is barely or only tenuously related to the subject and issues that they've dedicated most of their time, energy and lives to ?

You clearly didn't watch the video before posting. It covers WAY more ground than just "academics are spooks" and as such is an informative source. Try watching and inwardly digesting it instead of shitting on a click-bait title without bothering.

...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.

We've had this conversation on the board about a couple of years ago re CIA subverting European etc. intellectuals and artists in the 50s. I wish I was better at searching the TLN archives : /. It was rich with relevant material.

I think this was referred to in a You-Tube video by Ben Norton. I can't find it now.

But, there's this lecture by Frances Stonor Saunders who wrote about the cultural Cold War:

It references how - amongst other things - Encounter Magazine (edited by Stephen Spender) was secretly funded by the CIA.

Cheers John. You rattled my memory. I thought I had a link to that vid, which btw was excellent. Cannot find it either on the Grayzone or Moderate Rebels. Even read a book recommended by Ben .. which I can't find now : ).

Thanks for the Saunders vid and the book link .. I'll make sure I save them .. this time.

Doh. Saunders was the author of that book! I recognised the cover : ). It was riveting. Must get the digital version ..
