Who knows why he does anything? His posts on Twitter since he took over have been as man-baby bizarre as Trump used to post, maybe before as well, I didn't really pay much attention. But like all good billionaires, he's only in it for himself.

this is a positive move from Musk. Musk is a complex and often contradictory individual. Still, in contrast to Not having a poll or giving people who support Assange a platform and the opportunity... it's far better than nothing, surely? Many people have completely forgotten about him. I meet people who think he was released years ago!

Hey you know the guy has Asperger's etc.? In other contexts what you are saying would clearly be discriminatory.. I mean like if he wrote a play about a black transexual (now a woman), and her difficulties with her wife and their surrogate born twins..and then you called him a creep. You see where I'm going with this?

He's a creep all right, and it has nothing to do with his Asperger's.

It was his bloody-minded support for the U.S.-backed destruction of democracy in Bolivia that made me categorize him as a creep.

Fair enough... I had forgotten his (clearly), "executive faux pas", he has a reputation for subjecting his workforce to same.... however, one gets the government one deserves..and now Charles is on the throne that notion (re: mental health issues), is most apposite in this regard..

A pardon assumes that Assange and Snowden are guilty of some sort of wrongdoing. The pardon would relieve them of the consequences of such action.

Only in a mad world is the revelation of war crimes and other malfeasance considered a wrongdoing worthy of punishment.

In a sane world they would be celebrated. A pardon wouldn't come into it.
