This was quite interesting-ish. The first part less so as i've heard it mostly before - the second part looks at the 'Twitter Files' and whether they were a big ol' nothing burger (i hate that phrase, but i used it anyway, so there)- quite interesting, whatever you think of taibbi (a bit less personally if i heard right some of the things he used to say about 'corporate capitalism' - ie that old canard that what we have now isn't proper capitalism, but corporate capitalism, and proper capitalism would actually be ok - the standard shy capitalist bollox.(i think that's the gist, please correct me if i misconstrued it (i might well have)).

"Hi. Elon Musk was forced to buy Twitter a few months ago. Despite his claims of being a "free speech absolutist," his actions since buying Twitter show that he's a liar and hypocrite who readily censors speech that doesn't personally benefit him."

I watched this when it came out and agree it was interesting-ish. I felt he was too quick to dismiss some things in the second part and was too keen to be "nothing to see here".

I find him generally funny but a bit gate-keepery. At least he lost the puppet!

...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.

Yes, maybe he dismissed some of the twitter files content too much but I still think he was basically right that 'it' wasn't as significant as musk would like us to think, or at least not for the reasons he would prefer us to focus on (ie 'it wuz baddie demoncrats' when it was also trump's Whitehouse (though we didn't get to see what tweets they wanted pulled)). As it turns out it's as we'd probably expected: evidence of dodgy big tech's interpenetration with the state, regardless of which wing of the business party focus on.

(Or maybe it would be more a story if we actually saw all the files - like evil jack Dorsey suggested he should do (though he could have done it himself of course) - instead musk threatened to sue any employees who leaked anything.)

I liked the 'interpenetration' word inserted there (apparently a solid word) between techies and snoopers. At least, we hope, he had the techie interlocutors sacked.

Musk is a fraud, and he is trying to jazz it up to get the dosh he lost in buying the twatter hehe.

The entire machine behind Twitter is designed to shadowban. It's almost as if
that was the primary goal rather than the product itself.

I wouldn't be suprised (though I'd rather see receipts from someone who isn't rave dubin) - I'm not standing up for the other billionaire (Dorsey) or this one - I'm an equal opportunities billionaire hater - but while chuntering about freedom of speech and town squares, musk seems to have continued firmly in the shadowbanning tradition (his tweet saying "freedom of speech not freedom of reach" - is that not shadowbanning?), plus it seems there's at least as much if not more CEO-whim-based banning of people going on than I saw of before (including banning anti-fascists apparently on the advice of far right muppets). Either way, Elon musk is a billionaire twunt, jack Dorsey is a billionaire twunt, lets call the whole thing off.

Hmmm, don't know what that means but I'm reading The Crying of Lot 49 for the third time, the first for about 35 years. I am enjoying Maxwell's Daemon as much as The Paranoids popping up everywhere. ;O) Can't day I like the postmodernism much but I can always look up the more abstruse thinks on Wiki, the crypto-NGO. ;O)

He may have touched on the concept of entropy once or twice. It's rather a jape disguised as a novella, like the novel Lolita and other "books" intended to fool south-east of England dullards doing literature degrees, a dying breed apparently. ;O)
