Russian military operations in Ukraine + US Escalation vs Russia & China
continues...

* Latest US arms package for Ukraine contains fewer actual weapons to be
transferred to Ukraine, and more contracts for new weapons to be built;

* Weapons like the ground-launched small diameter bomb is included in weapons
yet-to-be-built and face compatibility issues with Ukraine's existing MLRS
force;

* Other equipment listed like counter battery radar sets appear to indicate
large numbers of losses to Russian military operations;

* Germany's decision to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks and 88 Leopard 1 tanks reveal a
very deliberate invocation of Germany's sordid history during WW2;

* US weapons pouring into Ukraine are types unlikely to be used in a potential
war Washington Seeks to provoke with China;

* The "balloon" incident represents a deliberate stepping stone toward war put
in place by US leadership;

One would imagine that the prospect of WW3 breaking out in Ukraine against Russia, or against China; would be a gift on a silver platter for the 'left' in the Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn, who has positiond himself as the leader of the wider left in the UK.

Yet, once again, they let a golden opportunity to establish a political profile for themselves, fall away unused. With so many lunatics in the UK calling rpushing for WW3 against Russia, it's extraordinary that the left isn't more proactive and aggresive in organising opposition to this madness and the potentially catastrophic consequences. Why is the left so useless, in times like these when so much is a stake?

-Because they are not "the left" and the real job of the "ersatz" is to occupy that space to ensure nothing IS done.

Your perspective sort of underscores my point. One would think that at least a few voices would be raised in parliament in opposition to the moving escalator carrying us towards WW3. They can't all be worried about paying their school fees. Acutally, the school fees are going to be the least of their worries. The schools with their kids and a lot of other people's kids could be smoking piles of ash if the trend towards escalation isn't slowed down, stopped and reversed.

Don't these Labour MPs have any principles at all? Don't they have a duty to speak out now, before it's too late? Even on the selfish grounds of self-preservation? What is it that they have that's so precious, that they are so worried about losing? Surely almost anyone with half a brain could take on Starmer and his hopeless policies? He's not exactly formidable or the sharpest knife in the draw! It puzzles me that there is no real opposition, anywhere from the left.

As I implied, its because we don't have a "left". The entire political class have been deliberately selected to be craven creatures. Anyone showing even a knicker-frill of original thought, principle or morality is weeded out: either ruled out by the political parties before getting anywhere near power, or if perchance they do get smuggled into the political machine under the radar they will then be assassinated by the media, stamped on for deselection, or both.

The survivors of the vetting process who have attained entry into the political class are thus preselected to be supine and now "belong". As such are very susceptible to "Groupthink": an unremarkable word but a dangerous phenomenon:

"Groupthink...occurs when a group of individuals reaches a consensus without critical reasoning or evaluation of the consequences or alternatives. Groupthink is based on a common desire not to upset the balance of a group of people."

All they need do is ignore all prior events and follow the endlessly reinforced mantra:
"Unprovoked attack on Ukraine...started last year... Russia... dangerous expanding Imperial state..." and the inevitable conclusion and consensus they all reach is: "Russia must be stopped...".

No "critical reasoning" is applied and no "evaluation of the consequences or alternatives" is made. They just "know" they are right.
