Berletic: Washington's Downed Drone + Growing Admissions of Ukraine's Military Deterioration
Posted by sashimi on March 17, 2023, 9:13 am
Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for March 16, 2023:
* Russian warplanes intercepted and apparently clipped the propeller of a US MQ-9 drone carrying out surveillance near Crimea;
* The US has no means of recovering the drone, though Russia may have an opportunity to recover it;
* While the drone operated in international airspace according to the US, it was collecting intelligence on behalf of Ukraine as part of ongoing hostilities, as a party of the conflict and thus threatening Russian national security;
* Bakhmut continues to face encirclement;
* The Western media has begun admitting to the grim deterioration of Ukraine's forces under the weight of Russia's strategy of attrition;
* Ukraine has lost the majority of troops trained by NATO over the last 8-9 years;
* Ongoing NATO training is rushed, incapable of meeting or exceeding Russia's pool of trained manpower;
* Ammunition and weapons are also admittedly running out;
* Ukraine may or may not be diverting reserves for an upcoming spring offensive to instead fight in Bakhmut;
* Any possible counteroffensive around Bakhmut might indicate just how badly deteriorated Ukraine's forces have become;

Col. Douglas Macgregor's sources told him that Gen. Zaluzhny told the US of 257k dead soldiers.
By now, and making a stab at it, it's probably nearing 300K KIA. Zel and NATO chiefs are war criminals for not stopping this slaughter by suing for peace etc.
Re: I remember 257K when Macgregor mentioned it ..
Still, listening to the BBC, one really doesn't get an inkling of what's really happening on the battlefield at the frontline. For them, it's information gahtered from the Ukrainian officials and always the Ministry of Defence 'says' in London. It's truly pathetic and the main source of disinformation.
The Ukrainians are being pushed into launching an offensive towards Crimea, in a last desperate gamble to embarrass the Russians and topple Putin, if they can reach Crimea, which is highly doubtful. They can barely hold ground when they are in fortified villages and towns, but if they are forced into advancing across open country they'll be incredibly vulnerable and suffer massive loses.
300 dead is a massiv figure. It probably means they've suffered a million wounded on top. Probably 10 times the Russian loses. Virtually the entire NATO Ukrainian army they spent a decade on, is gone. Replacing them at this stage isn't easy.
So, continuing the war is futile from a Ukrainian perspective, unless one believes in 'miracles' like NATO troops, hundreds of thousands of them, intervening, in the next few weeks to avoid a total collapse of the entire Ukraine project.

What's left of 'liberal democracy' is being pushed onto the funeral pyre in Ukraine, which is... unfortunate, to say the least, because, despite of everything, there were certain advantages... and we haven't even begun the war against China.
