Statement of the Hague court: an arrest warrant was issued for Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova, who are responsible for the evacuation of children from dangerous areas of Ukraine.

A court in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The reason is that they are allegedly responsible for the "illegal deportation of the population and the illegal transfer of the population" from areas that were previously controlled by Ukraine.

In this case, we are talking about "moving to other countries." The Court considers the evacuation of civilians from dangerous areas to safe places as "deportation," and if it had not been carried out, children and civilians would have been in mortal danger. For some reason, the court kept silent about the theft of children from the Russian population in Bakhmut and the forced mobilization (military training) of teenagers in Ukraine

Peshkov relies:

The Russian Federation does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and considers its decisions null and void, said Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the issuance by this body of a warrant for the arrest of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"We consider the very posing of the question outrageous and unacceptable; Russia, like a number of states, does not recognize the jurisdiction of this court and, accordingly, any decisions of this kind are null and void for the Russian Federation from the point of view of law," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Neither US nor RF recognise this jurisdiction. ICC is for the small ahem countries.

Yeah, I think it was Bush (one of them) that threatened to invade Netherlands if they tried to indict American military, or similar.

I think you're referring to the "Hague Invasion Act" which allows the US to undertake military action to 'rescue' any of its citizens who find themselves at the ICC. Luckily (for it) the ICC knows what 'rules' apply to it in the 'Rules-based Order" - only black Africans and Serbians ever face the court.

The real sting of this decision is that it makes it hugely difficult for Putin to travel outside Russia because he can be snatched from literally anywhere and transported to the Hague. A number of Serbians were effectively kidnapped - several dying in the process - in this way. If those behind this gesture can get indictments against Lavrov much Russian diplomacy could be severely curtailed.

As usual the BBC chooses to ignore a lot of relevant context preferring the simple, one-dimensional cartoon version of events. There's also the question of what's know as 'sovereign imunity' when applied to leaderes of countries, which means, normally that leaders cannot be held responsible and accountable for actions that occur on the battlefield.

The Ukrainian bird, called Olga that is part of BBC Russia alleged that the children had been kidnapped and subject to 'brainwashing' in Russia and been forced to sing the Russian national anthem.

He seems to be a happy bunny with ICC being involved in a trial of Putin for child abduction, and such. He obviously doesn't recognise the Donbass referendums and R2P for RF.

By the same token if one will delve in all other westie illegal invasions around the world many past chiefs should be on trial.

I'll now watch it to end and observe ..

After the second watch, I noticed that the Blair/Bush segment went by like an express train, in the first few seconds, before he settled in on the general breaches, especially by RF. UN diplomat, eh? From braver times ..
