I just happen to think that Carlos Latuff is wonderful. If anyone follows his social media you'll see that he's a very funny man. And politically he's spot on (IMHO!)

How can anyone argue with this?

Whatever sympathies I have for Corbyn, I did after all support him from the earliest days he decided to stand for the Party leadership in late June of 2015 up until the GE of December 2019, an election I knew the Party was going to get slaughtered in, as Steve Howell continually warned throughout 2018 -2019.

One does find it rather strange that the imbecile soft left and social progressives are incapable of cottoning to the fact, like it or not, that ultimately Corbyn was a poor Party Leader, actually, he lacked the spine and political nuance necessary, not only to face down the Right, but to change the structure of the Party.

Christ, here is a man, upon gaining a decent majority at his first bid for leadership, failed from his first day in office to address issues in Head Office and in the Regions, namely, instead of politely requesting that the Rightist scum General Secretary stand down, as is the Leaders prerogative, he left him in place with disastrous consequences moving forward. Christ, he did not even rid himself of that bugger after the ChickenCoup of 2016.

So, do forgive me folks if this poster won't be following others in asking Corbyn to establish a new Party, when he's already led us to ruin in a Party where over 80% of the membership supported him, something he failed to leverage to his, and the memberships, advantage.

Don't even get me started on John McDonnell, who sold us all out beginning hours after the 2017 GE.

If, we cannot learn from mistakes how the heck does the imbecile soft Left expect not to repeat them?

Agree with everything you write above.

What summed up Corbyn for me was the 2017 general election, from a position of strength after doing so much better than expected (Blairites had worked tirelessly for a Labour defeat) instead of using that moment to assert his authority he totally and utterly surrendered to the likes of Starmer. Perhaps Corbyn thought his 'niceness ' would win over the Blairites

disgrace Corbyn was in not fighting for control of the party, nor debunking the anti-Semitism smears and throwing people who stood up against them, under the bus.

This character called me a moron and asked if I'd ever had tea with Corbyn to understand what a decent man he is. Fortunately, for him, a line of cops were about.

I should have riposted, calling out his hypocrisy, that he was similarly not allowed to make a judgement as he'd never taken tea with ME!

I mean, def not making key decisions, and certainly not involved with dealing with new AS smears which are inevitable.

But if anyone can be a magnet that pulls together people in big numbers behind policies of
- reforming the media: limiting ownership and democratising the BBC
- nationalisation, a public NHS, targeting the wealth of he top 5 / 10%,
- peaceful resolution of conflicts, and strangling the arms trade
- ending fossil fuel dependence etc

... then I'd support the new party.

I think he'll just go independent in his constituency tho

The problem with the British version of parliamentary democracy is that it doesn't really allow more than two parties. How often has one heard it described as a 'two party system'? This completely rules out even the Liberals who gain millions of votes!

Establishining a new party is a gigantic task, not least financing it. Where is the money going to come from... the Unions? Corbyn had a chance to create a new party on the left when he became leader of the Labour Party, perhaps the best opportunity for a century. He could have radically transformed Labour from within, kicking the right out or forcing them to leave en masse and reforming the party machine structurally to give power to the Labour activists and constituencies over candidate selection. At the same time he would have kept control over the 'brand', the name, the structure and forced the right to establish a new party outside Labour and forced them to show their true colours.

Only he never wanted to really do this, his niceness aside, it's his ####ing incompetence that annoys me. The bloke isn't an intellectual or a strategist. He's a backbencher who was catapulted into a position of power he never desired and wasn't suited for temprementally or intellectually. That the 'left' is in a worse position now than when he took over, weaker and bereft of coherent ideas... John MacDonald!, is an indictment of Corbyn's leadership.

I don't agree that he's a coward. He's just massively incompetent in a leadership role. That's not really his fault. He should never have occupied such a postion in the first place. This is a man who wantonly wasted every opportunity, to radically transform Labour into a new democratic socialist party, he was handed on a silver platter.

I agree he's not a coward. Just unbelievably naive in trying to appease bad faith actors in order to try to keep the Party together. Not determined enough in setting out what he wanted to achieve - which comes across as weakness easily exploited by his enemies.

Hindsight is wonderful but -

He should have kicked McNichol and the hostile staffers out from the get-go (which could have stopped the sabotage of the 2017 election).

Having done better than expected in 2017, he should have pushed for 'open selection'. Instead he and the unions tried to appease the PLP.

He should have pushed back on 'antisemitism' and told the BoD where to shove their IHRA definition.

Above all, he should have insisted on going for a 'soft Brexit' and not have been seduced by the People's Vote nonsense (pushed by Starmer, Mcdonnell and others). Ambiguity on this was seen as a betrayal by many.

Whatever his failings, he doesn't deserve to be treated the way he has.

What should happen now (but won't):

The unions should withdraw funds from Labour and set up a new Party, coordinated with the SCG, which should declare for the new Party in Parliament.

Unfortunately, the SCG have proved themselves supine. And, the leadership of the unions are too comfortable and don't want to rock the boat and are 'looking forward to working with an incoming Labour government under Starmer'.

Labour conference supported PR. But a Labour government would not introduce this. Starmer hasn't spent the last 3 years purging the left only to create space for a genuine radical Party to his left.

We need a radical mass movement. But where's it to come from? You need clear aims which a large number of people can gather around.

I don't see it happening here - from the left.

If it happens, it will more likely come from the right.

Unfortunately... I too think that the major challenge to the political status quo, will come from the 'national conservative' right, not the left. The left seems totally buggered and without ideas, strategy, or charismatic and articulate leaders. The left seems doomed, when someone like the ghastly John MacDonald is one of its leaders and almsot a ####ing guru.

The notion of Corbyn acting as a totem pole is not objectional, i.e as an Honorary President, however, in terms of actual Leadership, management or strategy that's not a good idea based on past experience.

As it stands we have at least seven splinter Left groups I'm aware of with only one of these making a concerted effort to organise for the English locals - the TUSC has more than 350 candidates presently, however, Reform UK already has 500 candidates and intends to contest all seats at the next GE - obviously they have access to funds that the Left do not have, and this is related to the Trades Unions.

Now, what is the strategy of any Left grouping, well its quite simple, aim for a minimum 5% of the vote at a GE and win a few Council seats in the meantime, i.e., do a UKIP to force Labour Left.

Now, events in Scotland are interesting, namely all major parties with the exception of the Scottish Tories and Alba are captured by Trans ideology, something that the Scottish electorate opposes by a large majority - in the UK Parties, the Greens are captured, the Labour Party is capture, not too sure about Lib Dems. Its this Trans issue that seems the next break point in UK politics, as Brexit was and you can bet the Tories and Reform UK will exploit it - its this issue also that's stopping cooperation between Left groups, with only the TUSC coalition having nothing whatsoever to do with the crap as its self evidently tied to neoliberalism, i.e., hyper individualism, which is not collective shall we say.

I'm helping out with the TUSC as sitting on a fence hoping for the actual Left to get real has not happened, so choices must be made.

The strategy should be to attract abstainers and make as much noise as possible to counteract the tendency to overlook them getting more support than either arse cheek. Embarrass the fascist arse-cheeks who pretend to have been elected.

The trouble with TUSC is that it looks like it's a front for the Trotskyite 'Socialist Party,' which used to be 'Militant' aka RSL. When it comes to the international situation, they really don't have an understanding of the major developments taking place.

Probably the most positive trend in the anti-capitalist movement is the growth of groups such as the Workers Party and the Socialist Labour Party. The fact that both are working together in No2NatoNo2War is very positive. This all looks a bit 'Popular Judea Front' stuff, but we've got to start somewhere.

When I look at the TUSC I'm looking at Nellist, Williamson & Galloway, not at what faction within the Left they follow, indeed, as long as the membership of the Coalition actually has knowledge of the 1st International and strands that emerged out of that, I'm happy, i.e., the Left is a large playing ground.

Now, there are multiple Left groups out there, a few have united under an umbrella's, the strange thing is, the only faction that actually represent blue collar workers is rejected by the others for not embracing the latest fads, them latest fads Finkelstein denounces, and, that was only by looking at the Identity stuff,never mind the Transgender crap.

As you have noted, the TUSC is actually keen to cooperate and opposes austerity, opposes cuts and opposes war, it also opposes progressive liberalism, a great shame the other alleged Left groups don't.

By the way, I'm helping out doing phone banking, I've not joined any faction as its factionalism, particularly within the Labour Party that has really pissed me off.

And I hope or assume that Latuff is now fully aware that the media is not just a branch of or stenographers for "the White House" - unless the term "White House" is being used to signify all of America's real ruling elites and agencies - the Pentagon, the War Machine, Deep State, Surveillance State etc.
