Today's article in the Guardian, Larry Elliott, states the problem accurately enough. Pretty well what Mercouris and others predicted at the very start of these "shock and awe" sanctions.
There's a link in the article to James K Galbraith's recent economic paper on this matter.
Mercouris quoted Larry in his narrative tonight, as it happens. Also that is a good paper by Galbraith written last April, going against the usual meme .. 'Russian economy is in tatters' etc.
When MSM admits obscenity of imposing sanctions against a nation provoked for years/decades by US-NA
..US-NATO's Perpetual War+Expansion Machine..only then will I begin to have anything but total contempt for these execrecable conforming cowards masquerading as journalists.
Imposing sanctions against Russia is more obscenity than mere absurdity - imposed despite Putin's repeated thwarted peace-moves in March 2022 and December 2021, despite the Minsk Accords sham/betrayal..despite the instantly broken "No NATO expansion to the East" promises made to Gorbachev in 1992, despite Putin's fully justified red-line/existential threat warnings about NATO expansion into Ukraine and Georgia - ha! It's obviously the US and their sycophantic, selectively amnesiac political and media vassals who should be sanctioned, punished and vilified every which way.
("execrecable" = execrable. Spelling "failure" due to incandescent rage..) nm
