On that Skripal story, he is not just funny, which he is, but he also lays out logical arguments to show that this story has been spun by amateurs. This story may be adequate for the Joe Public that doesn't have time to think, but if you scratch at it in any depth, it is totally unconvincing. Making it up as they go imo.

Joe and Josephine Public are told what to think by the media. The media, which functions in reality like the state's Ministry of Propaganda. They have resources and experts and hundreds of trained journalists, yet hardly any of them have even made an attempt critically analyse or examine the Skripal Affair properly.

I'm sure everything this guy says is true, so why don't I trust him?

There's something slippery and evasive about this man. He keeps on dangling juicy titbits and claiming his revelations are "amazing" and so on, yet we never get any meaningful details. Okay, so Google insert an ephemeral image of a cartoon character's head exploding in order to influence our kids, but to what purpose? What result is that subversive image supposed to achieve? Apart from making some kids addicted to violent images and blunting their sensibilities.

And if he says "archiving two million lines of ephemeral data" once he must say it fifteen times. Well, so what? What does he do with it? He claims to fight back at Google but never says how it works -- except that three senators sent letters to the head of Google complaining of election tampering. Jimmy should have asked him of specific and concrete examples of these "ephemeral messages" and what they were supposed to achieve. I was left suspicious and unconvinced.

I wonder if the govt/media/spooks knew just how threadbare the narrative was but decided to push it anyway as a form of humiliation: "you will believe whatever nonsense we tell you, and even convince others to believe it because we have the power and you have to obey and conform, no matter how absurd and counterfactual the stories become". Seem to recall Orwell made similar points. I'm sure the ptb get a perverted, even sexual thrill out of manipulating the public conversation in this way. They're laughing in our faces and most don't even realise it.

I kind of think that the brazen and obvious absurdity of the state's version of the ghastly events in Salisbury, is, perhaps, paradoxically, a kind of subliminal message to the national media. Just go with the official story and don't ask any relevant or critical questions, because we're at war with Russia and that's the takeaway from this story.
