The first incident looks like poor process design with biomass. The current safety management might have been iffy. At some point the regulators will have to tell the truth.

At first glance the second (M4) incident seems to be unrelated. Also not sure if it warrants a second glance (as a comparison) unless a connection with safety of public is in focus etc. I wouldn't have thought the same rules would apply on regulatory agencies : ).

Just that in Ukraine and Syria and other places which imperial war visits massive fireballs on the outskirts of town tend to be ammunition dumps exploding. I was the. Reminded of the M4 store.

very, small long range precision-guided drones (something smaller than a ping pong ball). But they must exist - in principle not much new technology is required in order to miniaturize, and they would seem super attractive to militaries everywhere.

Yes, there are various reports on small (insect-sized) drones and their potential military applications, but I don’t recall seeing any military claiming to have them in active use, the way claims and demonstrations are made regarding other new precision-guided munitions.

Prove me wrong.

I've seen some reports on the "hummingbird" drones such as those featured in that hideous propaganda film that Helen Mirren was in a few years ago , "Eye in the Sky", (where they wrung their hands for ages about a drone attack on a "bad guy" because of potential civilian casualties in the nearby market, like they give a #### in reality). The tech in that film was fictional but that didn't stop the usual suspects from claiming they "had similar things in development".

The possibility of a long range, fast, precision guided missile about the size of a bullet or not much larger. A miniature crusie missile about 1 - 2 inches in length.

I agree; the Israelis claimed that some of the stuff in the film was already in service but most people saw that as a bluff.

One really odd, and incredibly dispiriting, thing about "Eye in the Sky" is if you go to IMDB and look at the negative reviews (not that IMDB can be trusted at all since they closed the comments board) most of the negative reviews are attacking the film for being too pacifist and claiming it's "the liberals" trying to prevent the noble military "doing their job" i.e. killing everyone in the target area quickly and with no fuss. It really is a depressing read.
