SIMPLE TRUTHS January 30, 2024 In Gaza ICJ
Behind the contrived hysteria at UNRWA lurks Western fury at the ICJ decision;
If Israel is plausibly guilty of genocide, then the “enlightened” West stands guilty of complicity in genocide;
They can’t lash out at the ICJ—that’s uncivilized!—so these cowardly sadists starve the children of Gaza instead.
The puke beneath the thin veneer of Western Civilization has yet again burst forth.
But rational hope springs eternal:
South Africa’s sublime delegation at the ICJ;
The foreign doctors who volunteered on a suicide mission to serve in Gaza’s inferno;
The Gazan journalists who dared Fate by reporting the Truth as Israeli snipers methodically shot them dead;
And the Houthis!, who don’t stop their ears and blind their eyes to the agonized cries in Gaza, but—moved by the natural faculty of pity, and lacking the gift of “reason” to rationalize away this pity—have instead thrown down the gauntlet to the barbarous West: No business as usual—No commerce, No trade—while Gaza is crucified!
“Men would never have been anything but monsters, if nature had not given them pity to aid their reason.” (Rousseau)
NZ's response to UNRWA is pathetically confused. Initially Winston Peters , our deputy PM and old political hack, said we'd still be continuing payments. I think it was he who said, we shouldn't be judging the whole organisation on the basis of a few rotten apples. However, Mr Luxon, his boss and our PM then said that we'd be reviewing our payments, depending on the outcome of Winston Peters' further investigations. Apparently we pay $1 million in twice yearly tranches, and the next isn't due until July. (this may not be entirely accurate, but it's well near enough for my purposes here)
On the basis of hearing about out possible suspension of payments I wrote this letter to the Post Wellington the other day, I don't think it's been published, and in the confusion, it probably is already a bit "outdated" Still, it explains my feelings about the whole travesty and cruelty of what is happening.

Dear Sir / Madam
Just for a few days I thought a glimmer of humanity and sovereign independence had, like an unexpected asteroid, struck this country, as our deputy PM, Winston Peters, reassured us we were to continue funding UNRWA in Gaza. But silly me - Mr Luxon, abandoning all moral compunctions and likely toadying to US pressure, confirms that we won’t be contributing to UNRWA because Israel alleges twelve UNRWA employees were involved in the Hamas attack of October 7th.
Of course we have to trust Israel, because when Mr Netanyahu raised the curse of the Amalek, and the slaughter of every man, woman and child, not forgetting the donkey, that is exactly what Israel is attempting. So here’s a possible circumstance: twelve, perhaps more, out of 13,000 UNRWA agents working and dying in Gaza (152 killed by Israel so far) might be suspect of something. It thereby follows that the other 12,988 workers must also be suspect of something, and that saving the dying, maimed, starving, ill and desperate is no excuse in the face of this damning evidence.
In response to which I’d say if God had a serious problem with the Amalek, perhaps it’ll be our turn next.
