Activist, writer and public intellectual Norman Finkelstein speaks candidly about his early upbringing in New York City — raised by parents who were both Holocaust survivors — and how that has led to his tireless pro-Palestinian solidarity work, including his “forensic scholarship” of Israeli criminality and the related abuse of Holocaust memory.
Towards the end of the discussion, Finkelstein offers important though difficult advice to those who embrace “the values of truth and justice,” which — as he alludes — are ideals that do not come with any significant personal "reward".
Re: Palestine Talks | Norman Finkelstein: Highly recommended!
He gets into his own personal political journey, starting from the Maoist pov until the death of Mao and the start of his journey on critique of Zionism in 1982. I've never heard this before. Absolutely fascinating.

Excellent; thanks. He really is a rare bird these days and there are not many as honest and committed as he is. Almost single-handedly taking on the entire hasbara machine in the last few months and absolutely smashing them....no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.
Fascinating, thank-you. Really brings him to life. Nm
