You mean “passing along” perhaps? :-)

Stratford on Avon would seem appropriate ..

I recall that Richard Williams’ boat used to be parked in a blind something (junction?) of the grand union canal in the cotswolds, I am pretty sure this was around where the GUC joins the Stratford on Avon canal around Kingswood Junction:
