She is fantastic; no filter at all; dismisses Clinton as a "nutjob" lol.

She reports on what she saw at the UCLA student protests and the wider media coverage of Gaza. She talks the talk and walks the walk; she's out on the street in the US and Palestine.

Where before security was blasé if almost non existent you now have strong security preventing non-students coming in the gate.

A charitable interpretation might suggest they are keeping the students safe.

I doubt though they would allow somebody in to address the encampment like Rahma Zein was able to do.

A very charitable interpretation indeed

I've been saying for a while people that don't pay attention have been ignoring the laws being changed/introduced/removed to stop any kind of dissent or protest and this could be a moment when a lot of them suddenly realise how far down the road that particular issue has gone.

I moved to Hull for a couple of years in the early 90s and went back to Plymouth, apparently permanently, in late 1996. It was depressing to find that, although I had kept in touch by spending a lot of holiday time there, the place had changed a lot. The streets were full of fences, demand signs, prohibitions and official threats. I suppose that Hull still looks like a run-down 1970s provincial town because the council is too skint to do the same. The ghettoing of the working class has been going on since Callaghan. It's like being someone who remembers the Weimar republic talking to lads in the Hitler Youth.
