Police who took a lengthy break before Manchester arena bomb disciplined

Yes, of course it's right to discipline police officers who left the arena for over two hours prior to the concert and drove five miles to get a kebab, but even now all these years later, there is no investigation or accountability involving Theresa May, who was Home Secretary in charge of MI5 and MI6 when the Abedi family (including their son Salman who constructed and carried the bomb into the arena) were allowed by the security services to travel freely to and from Manchester to Libya, and even used these security contacts to reassure airport police that they posed no threat. There have even been suggestions that the Abedi family obtained material and financial assistance from the security services, which might have been used in obtaining components in the manufacture of the bomb.

Just wondering what a five foot two inch female officer was supposed to do when confronted by a male, highly motivated terrorist, carrying a suicide bomb ?

Just wondering what a five foot two inch female officer was supposed to do when confronted by a male, highly motivated terrorist, carrying a suicide bomb?

First, I am not a security expert, but have read bits. One identifies the security risks well before they become dangerous to the public. Elementary. It's the system, i.e. surveillance and mitigation that comes into play.

.. five foot two inch female officer .. is an ahem, strawwoman, if you like. Try harder please

What should a '5' 2'' female officer have done? Her job, perhaps?

You know, protect and serve. Call for back-up including armed officers, clear the area, evacuate as many people as possible, delay the end of the concert, alert all emergent services and hospitals of a potential threat etc etc.

Amen to that - one of the greatest scandals of our time

The failure to investigate and expose the complicity of the FCO, our so-called 'security' services and the politicians standing behind them in this act of mass murder is one of the greatest scandals of our time. Almost as astonishing is that the likes of Channel 4 can spend time and money on a two-programme 'investigation' into Kevin Spacey but ignore the killing and maiming of teeny-boppers and their parents facilitated by the British state.
