According to accounts shared with ICC officials, he (Yossi Cohen, ex head of Mossad) is alleged to have told her (Fatou Bensouda, ICC prosecutor): “You should help us and let us take care of you. You don’t want to be getting into things that could compromise your security or that of your family.”

My guess is that stuff like this happens all the time, esp from the 'only democracy in the middle east'. The difference is this time the ones being threatened went to the press and the press published it, which is perhaps a hopeful-ish sign of things changing. (Though I fully expect to be proven wrong.)
