This was an absolute car crash and the Democrats are now scrambling to see how they can get someone else to stand. You watch, they'll end up with the only person less likely to win; Kamala or maybe McKinsey Robot Boy Pete Buttigieg thinks this will be his time to shine. Christ.

Well, that was a disaster.

The debate was an unmitigated calamity, especially for Biden. The president was often hard to follow and at times incoherent; he struggled to answer questions that should have been easy gimmes on issues favorable to Democrats. It would be nice if substance mattered more than style, because the substance of Biden’s remarks were important, and promised a more prosperous, secure and free future for Americans than Trump’s. But his delivery made it extremely difficult for even the most plugged-in politics addicts to follow, let alone your average viewer at home.

which has surely never been in a presidential debate before so there's that.

The scale of the disaster they've made of this is unprecedented. Debates are usually not particularly meaningful one way or another, since Kennedy v Nixon at least. This has completely ruined any last chance they had with Biden, has given the Trump campaign material for a hundred attack adds and handed the election to the ravenous mob of lunatics following behind Trump's flag of ego.

In Biden and Obama's phone call to Jimmy Dore, Obama said that doing this so early was a manoeuvre to get Biden off the ballot before the election....;O)

It's a possibility; they have been acting like they don't care whether then win or lose in this campaign and it has felt like they think it's "a good election to lose" for while.

It just show what a circus/theatre the whole political stage is in the US. Biden is like this all the time, and probably much worse in private, but the way it's all managed means there is limited exposure of it; he's only presented to the public in very small, closely managed, edited, doses. That left them able to claim that anyone bringing up his mental capablity has been condemned as being unfair or a smear artist.

Now they are ALL screaming WTF IS THIS? Too late now. Whoever they bring in has four months to campaign? No chance.
