I'm a bit at a loss why Galloway is promoting a movement built around Corbyn given the absolute hash Corbyn and the soft Left made when given a leadership position within the Labour Party itself, i.e., the failure to remove McNicol was an unmitigated disaster, and then Corbyn ennobled the bugger!
One could go on, but we've covered the ground already on this forum.
So, what actually is to be done and under which umbrella should it operate under?
WPGB vote was risible given the number of candidates it run, which was far below the 300 mark Galloway actually desired - suffice to say the actual Left was caught with its pants down by the July election - had it been an October election I believe the WPGB would have performed far better had it an ability to run 300 candidates in viable seats.
The high tide of Nu, New Labour was 4th July and I don't see Starmer doing a Thatcher by increasing his vote share come the next GE, which can be anytime from October 2028 onward's, which means Galloway and WPGB may lose momentum rather than gain some.
I wondered why Galloway was so supportive of Corbyn since he has in the past spoken of his dismay at Corbyn's gutless poltroonery. I suppose that Corbyn's popularity is at the bottom of it and Galloway wants the WP to benefit from it. Galloway might have a point that if Corbyn starts a political partei, rather than staying loyal to the party that betrayed him it might gain a following.The last working-class hero in England.
