Has anyone else noticed the creeping in of American spellings and pronunciation in the British media? Recently noticed "labor" in the Guardian in UK article. Gen Z as Gen Zee not Gen Zed etc.
This is, as it states, not parody. Well, we're living in a post parody age, I think.
Sad it poured on everyone, though not so much on the blue man-woman.
Not sure why the French/Parisianss thought it was a good idea not to have the opening ceremony in the stadium where all the competitors could come together for the spectators. If they wanted to show off Paris, why? Don't they have enough tourists already?
The fraudian has been blasting this colossal waste of money called the opening ceremony like it's the most important thing on the planet, desperate for something trivial they can splash acres of attention on so they don't have to report on the shit show that is the real world.
Also, that X account is Libs of Tiktok, well known culture war, homophobe, islamophobe, transphobe, anything not straight white and right phobe so you know, caveat emptor and all that. ...no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Tory Party...So far as I am concerned they are lower than vermin.

Thanks for the info on that account. However, whatever the origin of the X account, there was some bizarre wokeism, and really sleazy stuff. I initially thought the blue man might've been trans, but apparently not, he's a French actor / singer / comic called Philippe Katerine, and is married to Gerard Depardieu's daughter. I believe one part of the opening ceremony seemed to parody the last supper? Now I'm not religious, but if they'd done that to the prophet Mohammed, there'd have been riots. 30% or so of French people identify as Catholic, - the Olympic games is supposed to be inclusive and notI imagine to be demeaning to any group. And whatever happened to good taste? What is it with transvestites and drag queens? Outside of the woke West there are about seven billion other human beings represented in the Paris games, who'll just be wondering how much more degenerate we can become.

I've read up a bit about Libs of TikTok, deep into culture wars, and right wing conspiracy theories.
However, I must add that there are some serious issues in regard to gender ideology, it's cancel culture and its own aggressive intolerance, its interference with the safe and appropriate care of young gender confused and "gay" children, so Libs TikTok is tapping into a more widespread concern which is shared by many people, including me, and it would be best to deal to the problems rather than blaming right wing activists, even pretty unpleasant ones like Chaya Raichik for pointing the problems out. . The Tavistock Clinic is a prime example, and when you see what Canada's getting up to.......here in NZ our use of puberty blockers is ten times the rate of the UK's and has increased five fold over the last 15 years - until recently the NZ health web pages said "Puberty blockers are considered to be fully reversible and allow the adolescent time prior to making a decision on starting hormone therapy". Just not true. The Cass report makes sober reading.
Recently Chaya Raichik been re-posting people's tweets (people in responsible positions, such as academia) who have publicly regretted that Trump's bullet missed or expressed similar sentiments. She's entitled to do so.
But as for Covid and other conspiracy theories, I have no time for these - it is still possible to read such outlets and keep one's sense of proportion and try and sort the small amount of wheat from the larger amount of chaff.

I suspect that most of the illiteracy in the corp-0-rat media is a combination of English Eng Lit graduates and American interns being used as cheap labOr.The last working-class hero in England.
