In Israel and diaspora:
FYI ex-ChatGPT The global Jewish population is diverse, with varying degrees of religious observance and identification.
Estimates can vary depending on the source and the way categories are defined, but generally, here’s a broad overview: 1 Religious Jews: This group includes Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and other observant Jews who actively practice Judaism and participate in religious life. Estimates suggest that around 20-30% of the global Jewish population falls into this category. 2 Secular or Cultural Jews: This group constitutes about 50-60% of the global Jewish population. 3 Atheist or Agnostic Jews: This group is estimated to be around 10-20% of the global Jewish population.
---- For Israeli Jewish people, the breakdown of religious observance and identification is often categorized into several groups. Here's an overview with approximate percentages based on available data: 1 Religious Jews (Orthodox, Haredi, Religious Zionists): Percentage: Approximately 30-35% Comments: This group includes Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) Jews, who are very observant, as well as Religious Zionists, who combine religious observance with nationalist ideals. The Haredi community is growing rapidly due to high birth rates.
2 Traditional Jews (Masorti): Percentage: Approximately 30-35% Comments: These individuals observe some religious practices but are generally less strict in their observance.
3 Secular Jews (Hiloni): Percentage: Approximately 40-45% ----
Israeli Citizens Living Abroad: Percentage of the Total Jewish Population Living Abroad: Approximately 5-10% of Israeli Jews live outside of Israel for extended periods or permanently. Comments: The religious identification of Israeli Jews living abroad often reflects the patterns found within Israel ----
Summary: Zionist Religious Jews: About 15-20% of the total Jewish population in Israel are Religious Zionists. Non-Zionist Religious Jews: The remaining 10-15% of the religious Jewish population are predominantly non-Zionist or anti-Zionist, primarily within the Haredi community. So, out of the 30-35% of religious Jews in Israel, roughly half to two-thirds are estimated to be Zionists. ----
That being said I have heard that polling suggests (?) ~95% of Israeli Jews - religious or not- support what is being done in Gaza, the west bank and lebanon and to Iran. So this 'apartheid/colonialist/genocidal' ideology seems to transcend both religiosity and zionism present within Israeli Citenary.

FYI - ChatGPT responds:
Jewish Citizens of Israel:
1 Zionist Jewish Citizens in Israel: Percentage: Approximately 65-75% of Jewish citizens in Israel are considered Zionists of some type. Estimate: Given that Israel's Jewish population is around 7 million, this would mean about 4.55 to 5.25 million Israeli Jews identify as Zionists.
Comments: This includes secular Zionists, Religious Zionists (Dati Leumi), and a portion of traditional Jews who strongly support the Jewish state and its national identity. Even some less religious or non-observant Jews in Israel may still identify as Zionists due to their support for Israel's existence as a Jewish state.
Global Jewish Population:
2 Zionist Jews Worldwide: Percentage: Roughly 40-50% of Jews worldwide may be considered Zionists. Estimate: With the global Jewish population estimated to be around 15 million, this would translate to approximately 6 to 7.5 million Jews around the world identifying as Zionists.
Comments: Zionism has significant support among Jews in the United States, Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe. However, the level of identification with Zionism can vary, especially in diaspora communities where political and cultural factors influence views on Israel. In some communities, Zionism might be more cultural or supportive in nature rather than a political or religious identification.
Summary: Israeli Zionist Jews: About 4.55 to 5.25 million. Global Zionist Jews (including Israel): About 6 to 7.5 million.

Maybe it was on Parkinson, at any rate it was probably getting on for 50 years ago, not sure why it stuck in my mind, but he said “No I am not a jew, just jew-ish”
