Our jaws dropped, our eyes widened in disbelief, and our hearts were filled with gratitude and pride as we heard the news from Israel this past week.

With precision and brilliance, Israel (or so we believe) debilitated our enemies in a way that can only be described as a rare combination of genius, and yes, Divine.

Without a doubt, this operation which included a simultaneous attack on thousands of Hezbollah terrorists through beepers and walkie-talkies (and without any collateral damage!) will stand as one of the greatest military feats in history.

To everyone who has sent messages saying it’s enough with the jokes, listen clearly.

The other night I sat down and realized I hadn’t laughed in a year. From the gut. A real laugh. I felt terrified that I had lost the capacity for joy or fun or laughter.

Collectively we have lost more than you could ever imagine. We have been pushed to the outskirts of society. Much of our pain is private. Including mine.

So if we want to spend a day and a half laughing our asses off because a bunch of internationally recognized terrorist rapist assholes lost their dicks and their eyes, then we’re going to laugh. Because it’s funny. Love us or hate us, you’ve laughed at our jokes for thousands of years and you’ve been the benefactors of so much of our intelligence.

Oh and they invented humour too apparently...

There's been a bit of speculation that the booby-trap detonations were triggered when they were because there was an indication that the hardware had been rumbled, or was about to be.

My own suspicion is that the detonations were done precisely to have the effect seen above: to provide something for the human dogshit to celebrate. As such, it provides a direct measure of the racist mad dog state's *desperation*.

They probably thought the world would applaud. The Israeli planners behind one of the most spectacular intelligence actions in the country’s history – targeting thousands of Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon and beyond by exploding the pagers in their pockets – would certainly have expected an ovation for the sheer audaciousness of it.

A plan years in the making, seemingly involving a fake manufacturing company that secured the contract to supply communication devices to Hezbollah before discreetly modifying them into remote-controlled grenades – it’s the stuff of Hollywood. But I suspect the Mossad wanted to be praised for more than its ingenuity and technical prowess.

First, the target was not a Palestinian group but Hezbollah, a proxy of the Iranian theocracy. It does not sit in territory occupied by Israel, but rather in Lebanon, where it exerts serious power. What’s more, Hezbollah has hardly been minding its own business this last year. Since 7 October, it has been bombarding northern Israel, raining daily fire on the communities across the border, turning them into ghost towns and forcing more than 60,000 Israelis from their homes.

Above all, it would have expected plaudits for what one British intelligence expert described to me as an “amazingly precise” strike, “in the sense that the only people carrying those pagers are going to be Hezbollah members and operatives.” (The fact that the Iranian ambassador to Beirut had one of the devices only confirms how closely Tehran and Hezbollah are militarily entwined.) In this view, and even allowing for several civilian casualties, what happened on Wednesday was “about as discriminate as you can get given the scale of the operation”.

Just look at the empathy flowing out of him, "even allowing for several civilian casualties".

I also loved the statement that only Hezbollah members would be affected. And oh, yeh the Iranian ambassador to Beirut, but that just shows they are all Hezbollah, right?

He later says something like "even the critics acknowledge that it was a tactical masterstoke" and at no point mentions that most of the world has condemned it as an indisciminate act of terrorism.

The part of that sentence stating "....and you've benefitted from our intelligence....." reads very badly. Of course, Jews have contributed enormously to knowledge and progress in many fields but so have zillions of others of all faiths and none. The implication that the 'journey' is all one way with Jews bestowing their gifts on the world out of their innate goodness and never benefitting from the ideas and work of non-Jews is an example of pure racial supremacy.

Yes, I know what they mean, It was much the same at the time of 9/11 - I thought what brilliant planning and thought, to demolish two huge towers with airplanes merely by employing some boxcutters and a few committed men, and some clever and devilish strategic planning, and see so many US terrorists punished (much like Gazan woman and children, all US citizens are tainted by the terrorism of their state and must therefore be legitimate targets) - they and the US didn't know what was coming to hit them. So brave of the perpetrators, too, more so than the cowardly Mossad, to be prepared to die for your cause. It truly was a LOL moment to see those folk jumping to their deaths from so high up, did they think they could fly?

Irony alert. As irony seems now to be redundant, a) because most people are now too stupid to understand it, &/or b) because world events themselves are now post ironic, I think it wise to state here that the above paragraph is ironic, and I don't actually think that now, nor did I then, in fact to rejoice at death and maiming and misery is unforgivable. .

Irony, here written, is a rhetorical device to illustrate or argue the division between two competing points of view by overstating, ridiculing or misapplying one point of view to re-inforce another or opposite point of view. Sometimes the irony is obvious to all parties, as I hope here, but sometimes it is intended to be hidden, that one party doesn't even know his attacker is being ironic, though others around the attacker may well be aware and get the "joke". I write this paragraph to protect myself from the stupid or the unamused and complaining Zionist or world citizen who might find my line of rhetoric distasteful. It is meant to be. .
