Ian posted this downboard but there wasn't much take up as I think everyone's heads are scrambled with the constant atrocities and horror everywhere you look. It is however, another vital piece of work from AJ and I suggest people at least bookmark it for later reference.

I think it is a bit credulous to regard Iran as that stupid. I think it is much more likely that Iran were playing along with the US “strategic pause” game while waiting for S-400s to be installed in Iran because behind the scenes military advice likely knew of Israeli aerial capabilities in detail - now manifest in Beirut for example.

Remember the several visits to Iran during this time including by Shoigu, and the development of a strategic military alliance between Russia and Iran.

I've missed this argument (so much to keep track off/digest at the moment here and elsewhere) but what you say sounds very plausible (re: s400s). I think the Iranians were exercising restraint unlike the mad dog states but part of that is not attacking until your defences can cope with any potential response. Makes a lot of sense.

I doubt the Iranians would trust the yanks on anything ever, least of all when they are starting to crank the war machine up.

I posted another Prof. Marandi video above and I've only just started listening but he seems to be going into some of the strategic thinking in that; might be useful.

I seem to remember the S400s being a major factor in Syria too.

The stuff on the S400s and Russia/Iran start at about 44 minutes in on that video I mentioned.
