I was under impression they had it all sorted and if he resigns from Congress he would be thus escaping the need to be questioned (again) by .. House Ethics Committee. There are some undercurrents here not visible to 'naked eye'.

It's fairly common to put up one or two "sacrifice" candidates that you don't mind having to drop out or get nixxed and then everyone feels like they have done their duty of scrutiny; Gaetz always felt like one of those. Now he's nominating Pam Bondi who is more legally qualified but way more of a MAGA loon (she from Florida which should be enough said

Yes he was just paying those girls for "being awesome". Look into it and you will see exactly what he was up to.

I'm surprised you think the lack of charges means anything. Do you really have to be told how the law works when it comes to the ruling class particularly in the states; charges are for the plebs.

Other than stututory rape (depending on which girl in which state and how old they were) and maybe some minor drug possession stuff so it's exactly the kind of thing that goes uncharged for the political class (unless people higher up want it to happen which in itself is interesting).

His unsuitablity for AG is clear, both in legal experience and on moral grounds. I don't think they ever thought he would get through confirmation.
