Lovely G...filling my seeders in a while...have cats but no way they get to the feeders.
Used to get Woodpeckers...sadly no more.

I've seen one in the garden, on the feeder, flew straight out of woodland at me as I stood in the kitchen..sadly didn't own my cameras then...

Used to have the lot...never an ornithologist but knew them by sight and size...my dear departed sister knew them all, she rather liked correcting me from a sparrow to a Jenny Wren or that's a Bullfinch Ed, not a Goldfinch...so, so miss them days.
Do still have a Robin pair though...so it's not all bad.

My parents were keen amateurs..father had a Merlin he couldn't help but be feeding when he fed the other birds..living on the Tawy...Dad could watch the Merlin spy on the other birds from behind the house and on the other side of the road before positioning itself down river for the approach...it would take the smaller birds in the air.."I felt like a murderer!"
