Norman is tearing into Schumer's garbage book lately. rightly so. Of course when he said there were no footnotes he's obviously not going to like it whatever the content; that's his favourite part of any work being such a scholar.
Katie does such a lot of good work. The paywalling thing gets on my nerves a bit but they are not as bad as some.

Yeah, I love Norman's sense of humour, he's really funny and you can tell he likes a good laugh.
Was thinking exactly the same thing about the footnotes or lack thereof. The Finkelmeister and Chomsky must be the kings of the footnote and the lack of them in Schumer's bollox says it all really...hardly a sign of anything scholarly.
I thought the stuff Norm talked about, the holocaust absence in daily Jewish and American life after WWII was fascinating.
Seeing Schumer sitting there and pontificating with those concerned looking, head nodding, brain dead women was a nauseating sight.
I think the stuff with Katie and Norm is always first class...and I'm sure I always detect an extra twinkle in her eye when he's on her show!
