Is it safe to call it a bioweapon now without being labelled a conspiracy nut?
From my understanding it was not funded by DARPA, although there was a funding proposal Difuse to them. Instead it was funded by by NIH/NIAID headed by Fauci. The original aim was to create vaccine for US servicemen in Sth East Asia. From that perspective it wasn't a bioweapon. More on that here:
Because it totally makes sense that a virus that has touched almost every single country around the globe, most prominently of all the country that apparently designed it, even ended up shutting down the very university where it was apparently designed is a really **brilliant*** bioweapon design.
Sometimes I really truly wonder how people string two thoughts together.

Yes, the ability to engineer coronaviruses seamlessly is absolutely established technology. And if there was a natural reservoir it is more and more likely, as time goes by, that it would have been revealed.
All is true. But still, mini-Bill Gates pretending they did some brilliant research and now actually *know* where it originated, is pure self-promotion - another version of those endless, stupid nutritional ads or fitness ads where some entrepreneur did some brilliant research for months or years and came up with something no non-entrepreneur had thought of is … for the gullible.
The best thing Sachs came up with was “shock therapy”. It destroyed Russia more than any virus. And he said it himself: If it was created in a lab, all trace of it would be well-destroyed, so by virtue of what magic time machine can he possibly have the evidence and know for sure beyond any doubt as he claims? It doesn’t stand up to the most basic scrutiny.
Something about this virus makes people lose their minds and become absolutely certain that what is going on in their heads is the most obvious truth if only people would just listen!
Fact is: Nobody knows, right now, where it came from, nobody can say it came from or didn;t come from a lab, and nobody can say it came from or didnt come from a natural source. All that has changed is that it has become permissible to say it came from a lab, so up pop the bandwaggon jumpers right on cue.

From memory you are a specialist in this field. Now, as a complete non-specialist, I listened to the interview of Jim Haslam, as posted above, and thought it credible in terms of timeline, names of people involved, and hard evidence (emails etc) and the claim that the genetic code was tempered with. I post it here again, just in case you have time to check it out. If we get lucky you may have the time ..
