It's painful to have someone from the right pointing out the obvious, that Starmer represents nobody and has led the LP into abyss. No loss, to my mind, prefer to have 100 flowers bloom as long as it is not LP, Reform or Tories hehe.
Re: Oborne: How Starmer careened from honourable left to racist right
Their attempt to "out-right the right" after the Reform council election scare is going to end in disaster.
I commented that their first response, almost the day after, was banging on about immigrant student visas and now he's quoting Enoch Powell and making immigration their number one policy.
With the BiBiCee doing exactly the same thing they did with Brexit (platforming Tice and Farage endlessly) the blooming flowers are going to be the shit roses of Reform unless something changes dramatically.
Starmer is a complete and utter cunt. I didn't think it was possible but he's outstripped my worst expectation with room to spare. Light years in fact. Absolutely up there with Thatcher as worst ever and the rest of the right-wing zionist scum that took over the PLP, Reeves, etc. What a shit show. The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide. Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.
Re: Oborne: How Starmer careened from honourable left to racist right
A vast space has opened up in the centre ground for a party ready to make the case for honesty, decency and humanity in our public life.
We need an unashamedly left wing party to oppose the three right wing parties.
This should be seen as an opportunity for the Green Party. I think that's the position leadership contender Zach Polanski would like to adopt. But, the Greens are a broad church and appeal to different constituencies - including the sort of small 'c' conservatives that Roger Hallam talks about.
What should happen is for 20 or so 'left' Labour MPs to join up with the 'Corbyn' independents and form a new party. But, this would need funding. The unions - especially the bigger ones - should withdraw funding from Labour and support the new party.
But, unfortunately - with some exceptions - the Labour left are too cowardly and/or sentimentally attached to the 'Labour' label.
The GMB are notoriously right wing, Unite is led by the execrable Sharon Graham, Unison like to sit on the fence. They don't want to rock the boat and are comfortable sucking up to Starmer.
Which leaves the smaller unions - RMT, FBU, Bakers union.
Re: Oborne: How Starmer careened from honourable left to racist right
IMHO the Greens have become "woke" neoliberals recently....look at their works..incineration (at best no profile), 5G WiFi (fine as long as it's us talking), nuclear power (great if it helps solve climate change), endocrine disrupting enviro-toxins (we don't like plastic bags in the Ocean but otherwise nooo..dysphoria has no chemical/radiological antecedents -it's a choice..even for minors-)..I've known British Green-wellyism far too well...there's no social perspective.....naah..I'd rather vote TUAC or Liberal..
