Protesters clashed briefly with police in the centre of the city shortly before Raphael took to the stage at the St Jakobshalle venue.
Police used teargas and rolled in a water cannon truck to prevent demonstrators from marching through the centre of the northern Swiss city.
The confrontation began when police intervened to stop an altercation after two men rushed towards the protesters waving Israeli flags, according to Swiss news agency Keystone-ATS.
Well, well, well. What do you know? Reported as if Pro-Palestinian demonstrators were causing trouble but actually it's zionists who are kicking off. Almost as if there's a pattern.
It is actually quite ambiguously phrased as it could mean two men ran at the people who were waving apartheid state flags but I somehow doubt it.
During Raphael’s dress rehearsal on Thursday, six people with whistles and Palestinian flags obstructed her act and were subsequently ejected from the venue.
Raphael survived the 7 October 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas gunmen at the Nova music festival, which killed hundreds of people.
The singer hid under a pile of dead bodies for eight hours until she was rescued.
Did she? Did she really? The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide. Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.
Lot of stuff about Israel winning the public phone in vote...
Exactly my thoughts. It's getting more like The Hunger Games (and a bunch of other dystoptian works) every day at least in as far as the ruling class just dances on their merry way not giving a fuck that we can see that what they are doing is utter bollocks. It's just another action that shows their empty words and hand-wringing to be performative gestures.
Instead of a boot stamping on your face forever, maybe a constantly flashing neon "Fuck You" sign is also part of that future. The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide. Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.
Re: Lot of stuff about Israel winning the public phone in vote...
I kept switching it on and off so I could catch the genocide song as I wanted to see what reception it would get. It got a good one from the crowd...according to the BiBiC...hardly a peep of dissent. That is in direct contrast to the numerous social media posts and phone footage I have seen, which tell a tale of a cacophony of boos and disgust during her stomach turning appearance. 100s of Palestinians have been slaughtered just around the exact time of her preening kisses and "love to the world" crap. Had exactly the same scepticism about the "hid under the dead bodies of her friends for 8 hours" stuff too. I bet that's just more bollox. "I won't dignify the attacker's words by repeating them, they are horrific and vile."
