gb: Reevss has prayed that increased growth will magically obviate increased taxation. But her capital expenditure - financed by borrowing to deliver returns in the far future - will themselves not even be made until the future.
Its more cuts or more taxation; everyone knows that taxation must come. The problem for Starmer is that it will be unpopular for to increase taxes without taxing the donor class.
The Left has offered no agreed plan on how to TAX THE RICH. A Wealth tax, or a tax on the incomes of the Wealthy? Murphy has elsewhere plausibly argued that a Wealth Tax would be uncollectible; but he has offered a programne of cunning taxes on the unearned incomes on the rents of "wealth creators" who in fact create nothing. Unfortunately there is no organised parliamentary left able to present such a proramme to the public.
Murphy has dropped out of Twitter so I can no longer follow him. Its good that he should be presented here often and should be signalled under his own name. I clicked here by accident'
