I mostly like the Colonels stuff but that makes me fucking wonder.....some of these fuckers sound very good....but only so far, some deep stuff lying underneath when they can let slip deep feelings like this.

Good catch there Ed. You are absolutely right. Just to add, I like MacGregor for his mil analysis stuff and moral honesty on Ukraine and Gaza, but some of his views are diabolically right wing .. immigration in the US and the bit that popped out on McCain (may he roast in hell or whatever).

GG had his rant with god-bothering notions about the pope and all the rest. Not my cuppa as an atheist. Other than that it was cool ish. Thanks for jumping in and posting .. I am slow on the draw these days ...

...I know what's going on there, some visual/technical thing, but always throws me a bit.
Into the mix here, I throw Julian Bream, in the genre we are talking, it was always John Williams who got all the limelight...not that he couldn't play a bit!

Cavatina, not a solo of course.

I should mention, after my sussing out the finger picking mystery thang, I fell in love with the simple sounding but deceptively
Babecomplex picking style of Leonard Cohen...Joan Of Arc and Suzanne...pretty and lovely and clever!

Absolutely .. the vibrating strings drew my attention too .. nice visual accompaniment.

Talking about Bream and Williams .. I was also very impressed by Segovia himself. 'Banana fingers' player of astonishing expertise. Just before I segued into Bert Jansch and John Renbourn's mystery world. Those were the days

Haven't picked up on Cohen except as a style i.e. not the finger picking thing .. more on poetry etc.
