New footage shows that a “double tap” Israeli attack on a Gaza hospital that killed at least 22 people and sparked global outrage included three strikes rather than two.
A clip obtained by CNN shows that the second strike on the Nasser Medical Complex on Monday was in fact two near-simultaneous hits, which caused most of the fatalities.
Israel’s military claims it was targeting a Hamas surveillance camera attached to the hospital, used to monitor the movement of IDF troops, but multiple sources say it was a Reuters camera broadcasting a live stream of the area.
At least five journalists were killed in the attack on the hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis, including Maryam Abu Daqqa, a photojournalist who worked for The Independent Arabia.
A balcony at the hospital was hit at about 10.08am local time, killing Reuters camera operator Hussam al-Masri among others, according to witnesses and health officials. Al-Masri’s live camera feed then went black.
Nine minutes after the first strike, another two missiles hit journalists and rescuers who were attempting to help victims and document the attack.
A frame-by-frame analysis by CNN shows how the first missile hit a staircase where first responders were gathered, while another exploded in the same place just a fraction of a second later.
The four other journalists who were killed in the attack included Al-Masri; photographer Mohammed Salama, who worked for Al Jazeera; Moaz Abu Taha, who worked for NBC; and Ahmad Abu Aziz, a freelance journalist, Gaza’s health ministry said. A rescue worker was also among those killed, officials added...

...Israel said it had killed six militants in the attack but that it would investigate how civilians, including the five journalists, were killed. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu described it as a “tragic mishap”.
...The chief of general staff acknowledged several “gaps” in the investigation so far, including in relation to the kind of ammunition that was used to take out the camera. A further inquiry was ordered into how the decision was made to target the hospital.
Israel has attacked hospitals numerous times throughout the war, claiming that Hamas embeds itself in and around medical facilities...
A quick note on the "1,200 people were killed by Hamas in its initial attack" bullshit trope, in reference to an email I sent to the Indie and the reply I got.

I wonder how long this global outrage will last. Another day or so I reckon. Remember the slaughter of the ambulance drivers and medics and them being buried by the IOF? Global outrage....then nothing. Ditto for every hospital they've destroyed. Ditto for every other of the endless list of atrocities they have perpetrated; so many now that when you hear someone list a dozen or so of them you find yourself asking, "Wait, how did this happen?".
Of course, a lot of the atrocities did not attract any outrage at all and were merely excused with the IOF's latest excuse.
I am so sick of this demented maniac state. I saw someone on a Normal Island comment saying they should just nuke the apartheid state. Obviously not a good solution but at this point, I'm prepared to listen.
Also, amazing on that reply. If they actually do change how they present that information, well done! The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide. Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.

That email reply was from way back in June...I just included it to show that it was just empty words and how the "Hamas killed 1200 on Oct 7th" is still touted by them in numerous reports, this one about the third strike just being the latest.
"Wait, how did this happen?"...yeah, incredible what's going on, every day. Sometimes I feel my head actually swimming at the latest atrocity and thinking something's got to give this time but of course, nowt happens and we are on to the next one.
