It's hard for me to care, partly because of that quote and all the other hate he peddled (from the video it looks like a shot to a neck artery so I don't give him much chance) but he's still someone's father, son, husband.

Also, as someone put it on twitter, "If he's a martyr, we're all fucked". The US is skirting very near some of the "next civil war" scenarios. You can imagine the gun nuts drawing up target lists as we speak.

My thoughts this evening are with the loved ones of Charlie Kirk.

It is heartbreaking that a young family has been robbed of a father and a husband.

We must all be free to debate openly and freely without fear - there can be no justification for political violence.
