Hurrah! My six-month banishment from The Standard has ended.

Just over six months ago, commenting on the "liberal" New Zealand site The Standard, I stated that Radio New Zealand was a propaganda outlet for the government. That sent the “moderation” team (LPrent, Incognito, and weka) into paroxysms of fury. Mr Prent dished out a two-month ban, and “weka” unilaterally upped it to six months…. https://thestandard.org.nz/open-mike-23-03-2025/#comment-2029222
Yesterday, having served my six months' lag, I decided to make a rare perusal of the site, and it seems that Mr Prent is as angry as he ever was. In the course of one discussion he says to one Gareth Wilson: “BTW if you con’t want a pigfucker answer, don’t try using a pig-fucker comment in the first place. And please don’t whine like a child about it.”
After another contributor (Puckish Rogue).chides him for that crudeness, Mr Prent makes this hilariously inept attempt at an explanation: “Well if the dipshit pig-fucker doesn’t take time to read the basic history in the links that I carefully put into the post, why shouldn’t I take sadistic pleasure in jamming the lesson in.”
Interestingly, at the start of the thread, Mr Prent loftily denounces “the echo chamber of slogan dribblers created by Bomber and Pat O’Dea at the daily blog.”
Those psychotic "moderators" have purged almost anyone that was interesting or provocative. I'm by no means the only one to be kicked out, and I've had three six-monthers, although somehow I have escaped a permanent ban.
The site is nothing more than a hangout for the unpleasant and the ignorant, and is policed by three of the most captious and biased "moderators" on the entire internet; even far right American sites are more tolerant and sympathetic. It's been like that for a long time now...
