...more thinking of all the times Dore plays fast and loose with his various theories and personal accusations with minimal evidence backing them up. UK libel laws and lack of a constitution protecting freedom of speech (even if only in theory) would quickly clamp down on that IMO, or at least make it so it was harder to be so free & easy about it.

Asa Winstanley, Tony Greenstein and Kit Klarenberg spring to mind as examples of outspoken UK radicals, though not blessed with as much charisma as the Americans you mention. Lowkey & Matt Kennard do a good job too. Would be good to have someone with comedic chops operate in a similar space. Frankie Boyle had promise but turned into a repellent sh!tlib. Brand has the gift of the gab but is now compromised & in bed with the far right.

Unfortunate, to say the least.

Apart from Galloway, none of them have a regular LIVE video presence, which the Americans have. The ones Ian M mentions are mainly print journalists and so don't have the immediacy of an online presence. Both Stewart Lee and Frankie Boyle might have filled that slot but they were perhaps more social than political commentators. Or were they frightened off / frozen out by establishment pressure?

Galloway is the only genuine British contender.
