TBH finding it difficult to engage with "news".
For me now, the propaganda model is dead.

The significance of the media silence around Kier Starmer and the Ukrainian rent boy arsonists [great band name] is not that any discussion has been suppressed by the powers that be. Rather, that he is now completely owned by anyone who has the facts of the matter available to them. No choice he makes can be free of the thought that he will be exposed if he displeases his masters.

I've gone from believing that there is no need to rely on conspiracy to explain media performance to believing that there is definitively a supranational conspiracy which is defining state policy across the western world of which the billionaire owned media is but a part.

The public execution of men women and children on an industrial scale by these gangsters has left me agog. We can be sure that it is coming here soon.

I looked after someone after an amputation a fortnight ago and the pain the patient was in was excruciating despite adequate pharmacology. The thought that children are suffering in this way without analgesia sickens me.

I'm not sticking my head in the sand but I don't know what contribution I can make which is of any relevance to the suffering of the Palestinian people.

I've started running and rowing again just to get some non-pharmaceutical endorphins flowing but me giving advice to a medical professional is a bit pointless.

I agree with your thoughts about more and more "conspiracy theories" starting to look less and less improbable and, in some cases, clearly correct.

LBN is a community though so maybe posting a little on something not news/gloom related might help somehow. Anyway, we're all here for each other so we've got your back in any way we can.

I agree with pretty much everything you say, sadly. Glad you are OK though. On brighter note, there is a possibility the slaughter will stop soon.Fingers crossed the Israelis will break the habit of a lifetime and stick to the deal.

The Gaza/West Bank genocide project is only being scaled back in order to free up resources for the US/Israeli attack on Iran. So the deal will be temporary.

I'd say the plan is for the US and Israel to wreck Iran as soon as possible, then for Israel to resume its extermination of the Palestinians while the US squares up to Venezuela...

I doubt that the Iranians will be worse prepared this time, the first terrorist atrocity should have concentrated their minds. Chinese and Russian assistance should lead to interesting times.

I have been getting the doomscrolling blues in a big way for quite some time now...been really changed by the last few years in ways I am not entirely happy with.
"If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you"...on a personal level I know what that really means now and it is unsettling.
On a more positive note though, I love this place and the catharsis and humour it always provides!

Morning Dan, there comes a point when a person has to assess, how them trying, is contributing to the status quo even as they oppose it. For me the working out of the consequences of the Community Care Act. By 2001 the cancer of Care Management was everywhere in residential services and I had nowhere else to go but out because the only person that you can look after is yourself. You do it in the system by turning into everyone that you've met and despise or you get out.

(Sorry for going on about it again.)

There's little doubt about control by a supranational conspiracy: it's showing more and more through the transparent veil of "democracy" because, well, they essentially don't care if we know anymore.

Just like Israel itself when it fed the media the line that Palestinians were blowing up their own hospitals...from eagerly swallowing the lie we went in a very short span to non reportage & not caring any more that we knew the real perpetrators because there's nothing we can do about it...
And in domestic politics the old ritual of presenting a stall to the electorate is now merely that: a vapid presentation.
Starmer never held to any of the electoral promises he made because any domestic manifesto that contradicts in the slightest the general tenor of the western elites neoconservative neoliberal geopolitical agenda essentially means friction and a vacuous weakling like Sir Keir would never sully his copy book in such a way.

I'm not sure what the rent boy story will turn out to be about, but I would say blackmail is surplus to requirement to motivate such a supine craven creature.
Starmer was a willing persecutor of Assange before he joined the Labour party and now he's a willing participant in a genocide.

Blackmail would propose a conscience that might object and require leveraging... but the truth is they choose, fund and promote amoral individuals for a reason. Like Blair there is nothing Starmer will not willingly do for his masters.
