Hey Rask .. just a quick question ..

I've been looking at my archives recently and wondering if I could share some of the movies I collected over time. I just looked at 'Alien' and it was a treat. Any pointers?

Alien is a stone cold classic; sometimes hard to believe it was made at the end of the seventies as it looks much more recent.

The recent "Alien Earth" tv show on the other hand was absolutely dreadful and I'd recommend not wasting time on it. The one episode that was like a mini-tribute to the first film was ok but the writing on the rest of it was atrocious.

That series is bloody awful...only got two episodes in and gave up.
I always look with hopeful anticipation for any new Alien stuff and nothing good has come since Alien Resurrection imho.
Still watch Alien now and again, total classic.
Aliens too...mostly.

That's a tricky one with movie files as they tend to be much larger than ebooks.

Mediafire can cope with up to 4gb for free accounts so that should cope with most 1080p mp4 files which usually come in around 1.3 - 2.4 gm.

So all you have to do is go to https://www.mediafire.com/

and click on "Upload files now" then drag and drop the file you want into the box. It will then upload and check it (likely to be quite slow with a big file). When it's finished it will give you a link which you can copy and paste to allow others to download the file.

There are other options, like https://www.file.io/ which is a similar deal; drag and drop the file then it spits out a link which you copy and paste. Same 4gb size limit.

If you want to have faster download options then you are getting into paid services and I don't use any of them so have no idea about options.

I transferred all my DVDs on to HD since I was travelling. 1.2 Tb. So I thought it might be worthwhile to share.

I just tried your link with Alien (850 Mb .. AVI file) but was told it was too large. Perhaps I need to study more and try again : /.

That seems odd; they state 4gb limit on their site.

What you want to search for is "Free File Hosting" and look around at the various options. They are all pretty similar in usage and what they provide.

Video files are on the large side for sharing via these kind of things but they should be ok with at least anything up to 2Gb (the two links I posted specifically state 4Gb file limit, so I'm not sure what's going on there).

If you are doing it via phone then all bets are off as I have no knowledge of that and the file sizes may be different.

Depending on who you want to share it with, a simpler way would be to find a good torrent link to the film in question and post that (of course that assumed the intended recipients are set up to download torrents).

I hate mobiles in general, and thus wouldn't use it, so that is not the source of probs. For info.
