Having some knowledge of pidgeonhood, I'd advise this is v. controversial. But hell, don't let that spoil the story : )

As it happens, I didn't get an impression that she was a gold-digger. There was a connection there which went beyond that. She was quite articulate about it. Saying that and not being sure if you have bothered to see the vid. Also noting that his next victim suicided. Whatever.

I am at a loss. I'm sure your quip is clever. I'm also sure there is conversation ongoing which is not particularly about age, but power .. of word etc.

-It's not a quip but an actual quote from Gilot herself when asked how she ended up as partner to Picasso and subsequently a string of other rich famous men.

I'm not supporting Picasso btw. In my view Picasso was a vain egoist trying to fulfill the required western demand for a "universal" modern artist. He cribbed ceaselessly from his contemporaries producing in the main shallow pastiches of their work and his really good pieces are few and far between.
-What's unforgivable to me though is his complete inability to understand colour.

I take it on faith that she had proclivity for other rich/famous men as you say. I haven't researched.

At least she wasn't cowed under his, Picasso's, (no doubt) overwhelming ego.

Not sure about his colour blindness, as you suggest. Thinking time ...
