This case from the start has been heavily politicised.
The CPS are now publicly declaring, before the court hearing, that they'll seek a retrial, despite the defendants having already spent 18months in prison without a single conviction.
A CPS spokesperson said: "Prosecutors are now considering the precise basis on which that retrial would proceed, including the form of the indictment, in accordance with CPS legal guidance."
Kindof expected this, tbh. The process is the punishment as with Assange, and the GiCs have invested too much in the politics of the case to back down over a little thing like a jury reaching the wrong verdict. Presuming those out on bail won't subsequently have to go back in.
