I saw the DD crew mention this and I think I'm with Russ (What possible upside is there to switching him and hiding him? He can't operate at all now; it's all liability and no benefit).
Having said that, someone like Epstein would probably have had a pretty hefty dead man's switch and, unless what we know as the Epstein case IS his DMS being managed by those it was meant to discourage, it hasn't been tripped.

Why can't it just be someone putting the wrong date down? Wasn't he found in the early hours? That could easily lead to some confusion as to what date to put down. The idea that people who are going to fake the death of the most famous criminal in the world, get him out of the country and shelter him wouldn't get the date on an official document right is weak to say the least.
