What is happening to this site?

As well as all these intrusive ads I'm getting warning messages telling me I need to contact Apple security (I use Apple laptop) to unlock my computer. I suspect this is a scam. Is anyone else getting these messages and what can be done about it? Has the site been infiltrated in an attempt to close it down?

Urgent responses please.

Issues getting to site

I've had board host advert messages telling me to disable adblocker and unable to get past them to read the board - all fine now and also using Apple Mac Mini with no Apple messages popping up.

On the whole a frustrating couple of days.

Like you, Chris, I'm getting messages ostensibly from "Apple Security" saying my computer was "locked" and giving me a contact phone number to resolve the issue. At first I was unable to close it down -- first time that has ever happened. Eventually I was able to shut it down, but I suspect there's some kind of bug or virus been planted to disrupt the board. Whether this is connected to the unwelcome ads suddenly appearing I have no idea. I hope Dan can intervene somehow.

If the 'messages' are pop-ups, they are generic and certainly a scam.

I've seen neither ads nor any messages on this site. I suspect it's related to your browser. "uBlock Origin" is the adblocking extension I recommend.

Your message had an ad for corn plasters attached to it.

How do I install the ad blocker app you mention. The Lifeboat site has been ruined by a barrage of messages.

As I said before, I use an Apple Mac. Please advice.

Always seems to take ages to load this page these days and plenty of Gateway Timeouts.
No ads though.

I get intermittent delays but none of the horrors other people mention.
