I just watched Norman Finkelstein’s panel debate with “pro-Israel influencer” Hen Mazzig on the Piers Morgan Show (22/09/2026), during which Mazzig fiercely objected to Finkelstein’s characterization of Israel as a “nation of child killers”.
When Mazzig was then asked by another panelist, Glenn Greenwald, whether he ever denied or justified Israel’s use of “starvation as a weapon,” Mazzig indignantly replied:
“If you look at my X account, you would see that I condemned it”.
Afterwards, I did a keyword search for “starvation” on Hen Mazzig’s X feed.
There is no evidence whatsoever that Mazzig has ever criticized, much less condemned, Israel’s siege on Gaza or use of starvation as a weapon against the Palestinians. To the contrary, two weeks after October 7th, he suggested that Israel’s siege was justified (see here) and later on, persistently claimed that Israel’s siege on Gaza was “fictional” (here, here and here).
To the extent Mazzig has acknowledged the starvation of Palestinians, he has repeatedly and near-exclusively blamed it on “Hamas stealing aid” (see e.g., here, here, here, here, here, here and here).
As Mazzig puts it: “Hamas is the main reason for starvation in Gaza, period” and “if ‘intentional starvation’ equates to the genocide of Palestinians, then Hamas are definitely committing a genocide“ (emphasis added).
On other occasions, he has claimed, or amplified claims, that there is no “man-made starvation” in Gaza at all, except for Hamas’ starvation of Israeli captives (see here and here).
During the debate, Finkelstein called Mazzig a “propagandist,” not “much different from Goebbels,” and likely a “child killer” from “a nation of child killers”.
The evidence shows this characterization is accurate.
