Re: reader questions
Thank you James.
We always appreciate input of the kind that you provided today because we clearly made several mistakes in our timeline in the Blog. Hopefully we have found and corrected those mistakes which did not take away from the point being made, but they did cause confusion and if not corrected they could have cast doubt on the validity of the rest of the timeline - which is supported by documentation.
We will always correct mistakes brought to our attention. Thank you again.
Thank you for acknowledging me over that
The script use in that documentary, and the sourcing of copyright material; the lining up of locations and receiving access permissions, plus securing dates for people to appear in the program, had to be planned long before its first airing on March 1, 1991. At this time we do not have access to the production timeline.
Certainly the previous year. This first I heard of it was on the Chris England premium lines in 1990 with Chris's amusing embellishments such as the working title is now The killing of Caroline, The taking of Radio Caroline, My sad Life with Radio Caroline
The CE phone lines stopped pretty much after the 1990 airlift off the Ross of Rico and C Martin
Peter Moore going on his phone line to for once admit defeat and say porthole smashed. RC finished
My own weirdo interest in this is Bob Geldofs originally named Planet Productions made this but apparently very little else before going in with Charlie Parsons/ Waheed Alli (personal and business relationship rewarded with Lordship) to form Planet 24 (from Charlies 24 Hours production company and what Johnathon Ross salvaged from Channel X productions
They then hold Channel 4 to ransom for the next decade bratt packing the Big Breakfast (Lock keep cottages studio houses on the Lea Navigation now for sale for about 4M) and taking over the youth TV output rather in my mind like the offshore stations of the sixties took over the radio
From reading books by the likes of Terry Christian etc Planet 24 was run like an absolute pain in the neck shambles of Zoo TV production companies are a license to print money and we don't care just con muppet viewers with mass media drivel
