Those two also got in touch with Mervyn in Texas seeking help in discovering what the truth was about the ownership of the Ross Revenge and the claims then being made by the firm of Richards Butler.
The facts show that only Malcolm Smith has a legitimate business agenda and sooner or later he will disown the entire anorak community as a bunch of old geezers playing at being silly kids. None of them know what they are writing about.
The big problem for them is that Ronan O'Rahilly, who they worship, is now dead, and he was a lying con man - just as Malcolm describes him.
Malcolm's long agenda may be to get rid of the Ross Revenge by dispensing it to the scrap yard. He has already stuck it under a Charity which may have great difficulty paying for its present upkeep, let alone restoring its engines.
Malcolm may also be using the 'Caroline' name to climb his own financial ladder.
He first obtained an Ofcom license for AM, then another for FM. He may eventually let the AM go and build upon the FM using the Caroline name as his own brand for something he has in mind. What that is I don't know.
But Malcolm is no nostalgic anorak, and neither is he keen on playing disc jockey. He is a mechanic by trade, and it is the trade element you need to follow. Malcolm is not a historian, but Malcolm is a reasonably smart fellow with an agenda, and his primary objective at his stage in his own life is to put money in his bank.
Anoraks don't have any money so his interest is not in wasting time with them.
But to know exactly what Malcolm's mind is set upon achieving at this stage of his life, well, I guess you will have to ask Malcolm. Whatever it is, it involves making, not spending money.
As for our team, well, now that Malcolm has more-or-less come out and denounced the rubbish that Rusling has written about Ronan O'Rahilly, we really have no beef with Malcolm, and so we wish him well.
That may come as surprise to you.
