Answer: Forrest Mars originally created M&M's in 1941 exclusively for U.S. service members deployed overseas during World War II. Mars drew inspiration for the candy after observing soldiers consume chocolate pellets enclosed in a protective hard shell during the Spanish Civil War. The idea behind the hard shell was to prevent the chocolate from melting while soldiers carried the candy in warm tropical weather. Initially reserved exclusively for the military during World War II, M&M's became available to the general public as wartime quotas were lifted.

The AMC Pacer, affectionately known as the "flying fishbowl," gained its peculiar nickname due to its unique design that resembled a fishbowl on wheels. Introduced in the 1970s, the Pacer featured a large wrap-around rear window, giving passengers a panoramic view of the surroundings akin to a fish swimming in a bowl. The car's distinctive bubble-like shape and generous glass area made it stand out from the crowd, often drawing attention wherever it went. With a body surface area that was 37% glass, it was often described as "the 1970s answer to George Jetson’s mode of transportation.”
