She confirmed. I am a target.
I just am. Bad people are possessed by demons and the scent of me inspires evil misdeeds.
My friend here, plays drums for a local gig band. He's told me the same thing. I asked neither
I mean. Seriously. It sounds like a paranoid complex. Until strangers cross streets to confront you. Anonymous douches attack your dogs.
If it was a handful of times. It'd be coincidence. It's literally dozens per year since I can remember.
So- don't let my negative safeco experience jade your choice. I was attacked at Shasta when I was there last. No lie. I'm used to it. Evil hates Good. It's as old as humanity.
I did look up the cost of taking in the full 4 game series twins at Seattle. 3 nights in a downtown Seattle hotel is $650-$1500.
Seats are cheap right now at stub hub. You can sit lower level behind the plate for $75 a pair.
Parking runs around 50-80 per day. Be it the Safeco garage or your hotels garage.
The cost of 4 games 3 night stay in Seattle is about the same as the cost of that houseboat for a week
The houseboat will be a unique life experience.
You can watch almost all of the 162 twins games via mlbtv for $129 per year.
Now.. I'm a nature kinda dude that also enjoys sports. But just my opinion. Sports are an illusion... Man made entertainment. It'll always be there in some form.
Lake Shasta, while also a man made endeavor, the dammed confluence of 4 north Cali rivers. It is amongst the most beautiful places I've ever seen. And I've been to a few spots that pass for paradise.... I lived nearby in my youth. And I'll say this about California. In the 69's & 70's. It was as near utopia as I've witnessed in America.
Taxes, water issues, cost of living, population explosions & traffic disasters on a Bopal India scale have forged the former utopia known as Cali into an unliveable shell of it's former self.
However, it still has some of the most beautiful natural settings in north America.
Lake Shasta on a hot summer day is one of them.
Water issues being what they are. A year like this. When Shasta is full? One of these full years will be the last of our lifetime. Somehow, someway. I'm making a Mecca pilgrimage to Redding California this summer. I'm calling tomorrow to see if HH has any boats left. I might kidnap a hitchhiker to keep me company. But the more I think on it. I gotta do it. Health be damned.
Any of you reading this are invited. It like the summer of love, 1968....
If you come, be sure to bring flowers in your hair!
And a swimsuit, a fishing pole, a sleeping bag & a pillow... And gas money. I'm imagining $7-$8 per gallon on the lake.
Ya know, this song literally changed my life.
Or maybe it was Cronkite on the CB's Duluth affiliate. March of '69. I was there for the remainder of my youth. Not some brokendown, podunk -50° mining hell town on the range.
Culture shock for sure. Growing up in Yosemite, the northern lakes, the Pacific coast beaches and the skiing of the high sierras? Priceless. Twas the time of my life. And all the pretty girls were free.
I never saw, nor had the urge to see Disneyland until I returned from Alaska.
Cali is king.
Always was... Don't knock it until you've been there.
If you're going to San🎶Fran🎶Cisco. Be sure...
Skip it, drive north in the 5 past Redding to lake shasta you will not regret it!
