I like that scenario, snd I remember back as the season was ending that you were on board with Nix? I think Wyo was too. I was still trumpeting Penix. Penix remains an option either at the same slot or maybe even a trade back into rnd 2.
As I stated in an earlier post. It sure would be nice to see draft boards in Denver & Vegas.
I still think from 5-7 qb's are drafted day 1.
With this being the final draft of covid eligibility. The talent level from this draft should grade out high in later seasons. But the qb availability is going to quickly return to the scarcity of prior few years in which we've witnessed near 90% bust rate from rnd 1 & 2 qb's.
The spread qb crunch is ramping up!
NIL could mitigate the issue. Convincing qb's to use all of their eligibility while earning 1st year NFL qb salary via sponsors. It'll take a couple years for the delayed draft entry to catch up tho. Meaning 2025 & 2026 drafts are unlikely to include qb underclassman. Why enter the draft when NIL pays as much or more than a rookie nfl contract.
2024 is the year to draft a qb. Even if youre t hinking you wont need a fresh face until 2026/27.
I remain hopeful the vikings draft 2 qb's. The 2nd being a long term development project like Joe Milton, Cam Ward, Carter Bradley or even Sam Hartman who might became a late bloomer in the Brad Johnson mold.
Hand size of qb's...
Caleb 9.7/8"
Jayden 9.5/8"
McCarthy 9".
Maye 9.1/8.
Penix 10.3/8
Nix 9.7/8"
Milton 10.3/8
Devin Leary & Sam Hartman 9.5/8
Rattler 9.6/8.
Bradley 9.3/8
