I use Inox for the exterior of my reels now. The reason being that it is "Food Grade Approved" I'm not exactly sure what that means! but it says "contains no silicon, acid, dieselene or kerosene" and seems a more natural product than CRC type products.

If it's food grade approved I sort of figured it would be more "fish friendly" than CRC/oil based products??? (I've always had an aversion to handling CRC sprayed reels then baiting, or rigging up). I know that they say you can spray it all over your nylon filled spool - but not for me!

Inox says it does the usual things like displacing moisture, penetrates corrosion, lubricates, doesn't dry out, repells water, cures the common cold etc etc. It comes in a handy little push button atomiser bottle and I have no financial connection with the product!
