As Andy has stated, need to cover your ass at all times.
We supply customers with written warnings about cam-belts,brake fluid condition and any other advise when carrying out a service along with a service sheet of whats been done.We even try to do it for small jobs like replacing a bulb, but not always possable.there is legislation about DUTY OF CARE which means that if you fail to report a fault to a customer which you should have spotted you may well be liable in event of an accident!
The same is true of MOTs Advise advise advise, must cover yourself.
I know its a pain with all the extra paper work, but beats going to court.
Sorry to preach if you already carry out such practices, but maybe its a lesson to us all.
Hope it goes well
Tony
